A Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Robert Ahomka-Lindsay has donated items worth GH₵30,000 to the Bankoman Senior High School in the Kumawu constituency.
The donation is on the back of a plea from authorities of the school who approached the aspiring Member of Parliament to assist the school in the refurbishment of its boys’ dormitory.
Some of the items donated include 100 bags of cement, 17 pieces of 4 inch galvanized pipes, 16 pieces of 3 inch galvanized pipes, 130 square meters of wall and floor tiles, wires meshes louvre blades to cover 4 big halls, some buckets of emulsion paint and oil paint.
Ahomka-Lindsay commenting on the gesture said he was motivated to support the school in that he regards education as critical to the development of the town and country at large.
He reckons the support will enable the school have new facility and urged the authorities to put it to good use in order for the building to stand the test of time.
The Chief of Banko , Nana Kwarteng -Sefa I, commended the Deputy Minister for his benevolence and wished him well ahead of the upcoming Parliamentary primaries.
On her part, the Headmistress of Bankoman Senior High School, Juliet Amankwah expressed the school’s appreciation to Mr. Ahomka-Lindsay who is also the deputy Minister of Trade and Industry for coming to their aid. She assured that the facility will be put to good use to benefit all.
